Situated high on the mountain slopes of Constantia, Eagles' Nest Vineyards benefits from one of South Africa's most distinctive cool-climate wine-growing environments. Vineyards rise from approximately 100 to 400 metres above sea level, where cooling ocean influences and elevated sites contribute to slow, even ripening and exceptional flavour concentration. The estate has become known for producing wines that combine richness with freshness, reflecting both the power and elegance that Constantia can achieve. Careful vineyard management, hand harvesting and maturation in French oak help shape a Shiraz that remains true to its origin while expressing the variety's characteristic depth and spice. Colour: Deep ruby red with vibrant crimson highlights. Nose: Concentrated aromas of blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum are layered with cracked black pepper, subtle smokiness, leather and hints of vanilla oak. Palate: Full-bodied yet finely structured, showing flavours of dark berries, Morello cherry and plum supported by savoury spice and gentle oak influence. Ripe tannins provide structure without harshness, while fresh acidity maintains energy and balance throughout the palate. Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering notes of black fruit, pepper spice, dark chocolate and a refined smoky character that reflects the wine's cool-climate origins.
